MARY, Dental Assistant (EFDA)

A graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Mary continued her education at LCCC, graduating in 1980 with a Certificate of Specialization in Dental Assisting and also in 1986 with her Associates’ Degree in Dental Business Assisting. Mary is a licensed expanded functions dental assistant (EFDA) and has been a member of our staff since 1980. She is also responsible for the ordering of all dental supplies for the office.

For over 15 years, Mary has been joined by hygienist, Jennifer, in a Dental Health Month Program that has educated local preschool, day care and Head Start children. Together, they have entertained 10,000 children with their oversized animal puppets and huge toothbrushes while teaching them about healthy food choices and how to keep their smiles healthy for a lifetime. Mary and Jennifer also volunteer each year for the local Penn State campus’ health fair.

In the past, Mary has also served on the advisory board to the dental program at LCCC to assist in their accreditation process.
